  • SMX II Control

Posted by Archived on February 17, 2013 at 8:50 am

Having an intermittent problem with one of the SMX panels. Will
not respond to up and down on the temp, sometimes a dim panel and
seems to freeze up and get stuck on 70 degree’s. AC works, but I have
to shut it down by pushing the off button instead of working
    automatically.

Any idea if a reset would help and where would I find an exchanged
    panel if needed?

I agree with Greg. The folks there are very helpful.

Have you rebooted it? How is the voltage? Does the book say anything. I believe it is available on line if you do not have one.

I’ve had that problem in the past and have it once again. Haven’t yet fixed the current problem, but last time it was a bad connection at the grey metal box in the bay that corresponded to that thermostat.

    Tom,

If you are still in Everglades City, you might want to contact “Jake” Baker at Transport A/C Inc., 5705 Enterprise Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33905 877 471-0925 (cell 239 357-6259). He is a Cruisair and Carrier dealer and has taken care of our coach and is recommended.

If you want to take a ride up there, you will exit I-75 at Luckett Rd (exit 139).

    HTH

Thanks guys.. I do have the book and nothing other than a factory reset. I’m going to pull the board and then also check the box in the bay for connections.

Good contact Chuck, I’ll give him a call.

    Tom,

I haven’t even bothered to look for the control boxes in the current coach but on the previous one all four Cruiseaire boxes were mounted in the first bay, up high in the center of the forward bulkhead. Easy access.

Update… Shut down the power and removed the panel unplugging the small 4 pin plug. Plugged back in and turned on the power, still no workie. I them turned the panel to off, leaving the 120 volt still on and unplugged the 4 pin again. Hooked it back up and all is good. Seems I needed to have the 120 volt power to the remote turned on when unplugging. Has worked for 2 days with no issue.

I also tried the reset and that had no effect.
