SMXll
Hello one and all, Does anyone have an Idea why my SMXll control panel won’t light up. I turned the breaker on at the panel and no lights came on I have looked everywhere for the problem but am at a loss. Normally when the breaker is turned on after a few seconds the SMXll will light up but not on this one. Any Suggestions as were to look next.

On my last two Libertys to get the Cruiseair SMX panels to come on I had to have the switches on in the main 120V electrical panel, plus turn on the A/Cs using a switch for the appropriate unit on the dash, or if you have a touch panel display turn them on at the display. Then the SMX should be alive and you can operate the A/C.

Thanks Jon for responding, I have turned the AC unit on at the breaker panel but the touch panel does not light up, I have tried to push different buttons on the touch panel but no lights come on. It used to light up as soon as the breaker was turned on at the breaker panel.

If it is a elegant lady then verify the fwd unit is on at the dash/driver screen….you can then verify power at control board in the first bay ceiling…that can verify that the power is making it into the control side….there is a fuse on the circuit board there also…could be anything at this point from power to control side…

Thanks Jeff, She is a 1996 Liberty and I have no touch screen on the dash just Breakers at the electrical Panel and the four SMXll Control units. I did notice while trying to locate the problem the four boxes mounted on the roof of the first bay and they were marked Port, Starboard, Aft and front could it be that the box is defective? and how do I check it out?

Do you have a bank of green push buttons on the left side of the dash? If so do you have buttons for each of the A/C units?

No buttons on the dash for the AC’s just breaker switches at the panel and of course the SMXll panels .

It sounds like Libby has a Liberty “Classic”(like ours), not a elegant lady.

Yes she is a classic liberty, still many things to learn about her. I am beginning to think that the problem is in circuit board in the first bay. I will keep looking.

Check the connector between the circuit board in the first bay and the cable.

Wanted to thank everyone for giving me ideas on were to look to find my problem, well problem solved, after tracing wires from basement to the control unit and all parts in-between i found some chewed wires from mice. Got to keep an eye on them all the time.i here they taste like chicken 😎
