12V Water heaters – troubleshooting
12V water heater – doing some testing before trip up-north –
All worked fine before before left Michigan for Florida last November…
Stated by pushing button in the rear panel, unit starts, runs for couple minutes – hot exhaust – then stops.
After few minutes starts again, runs couple minutes, then stops again…NO HOT Water…
Water in the system is cold / ambient temp(Florida).
Webasto is working fine – no issues…
Where do I start? Where is the thermostat or i am looking for something else?

Doesn’t make sense. You say webasto is working fine. You can’t heat water with the 12v webasto on and electric heater off?
How are you testing your webasto to know it is working fine?

Webasto 12V heat, works perfect, 110V water heater and 110V heat works good, just tested…just the 12V water heater shuts down as explained…
Really appreciate your help Bernie…thx, for now I am still scratching my head, wt.. is wrong here

I don’t know what the cut in temp is on your bus for the 12v water heater. Ask Leon and if it’s webasto related call Rudy.
What is throwing me is why your 12v heater is working and not the 12v water heater.

Called Rudy awhile ago, not Webasto related, must be something in the water heaters, will get with Leon. Too bad they are not monitoring this website to respond

It sounds like your Webasto is shutting off due to over temp condition. I’d check the circulation pump and solenoid valves.

Your 12v water heater is your webasto coolant running thru coils in your 120v water heater. Have you had work done to the coolant system? You may have a valve shut off or you need to bleed the coolant lines to the water heater. Doesn’t make sense to me when you say the water heater shuts off.
