Just want to give a shout-out to a PC Sponsor, AAP, for placing my Cruiseairs in great working order.
I had noticed that two of my Cruiseairs were not blowing as cold as the other two using a digital thermometer, recommended by Fred, AAP’s owner, over using my IR gun. AAP is located right along I-95 and a great place to stop for their experitise in Cruiseairs.
Fortunately, all I needed was R-22 for three of my Cruiseairs. They also tested for leaks at the compressors and evaportors. Basically, two hours of labor and 1.5lbs of R-22. All four Cruiseairs now have a 18-20 degrees “colder” difference between the vent & return, as opposed to the 10 degrees “colder” difference I was getting.
AAP has 50AMP service for overnight camping as well. After visiting their shop, you can see why they are considered the “experts” when it comes to Cruiseairs or other Dometic HVAC products.

I’ve been there twice over the last couple of years.
Great place and people for Cruise Air work!
I have also shipped a Condensing unit there for repair. It was returned in 2 days with good results.
They also installed a basement central unit in a previous Bus I had to replace the old RVAC unit.

Bill helped me out and trouble shot my problem over the phone. Front Cruisair on swing out with rubber hoses kept leaking down after a week or so and 2 new metal braided hoses and a dryer fixed the problem. They are a good bunch for sure.

Looks like I may need to go to AAP. What route do you recommend to get there? Looks like you have to drive thru Milford on hgwy 722? I would be coming from the north on 301/ 207. Currently in southern Maryland just off of Hgwy 301.

Marathon Grand Prairie topped off a couple of our CruiseAirs with R-22 when we were there last month. I guess topping them off once a year is not too bad.

we came from The DC area, heading south to Hilton Head last Spring. It is back in the boonies a little ways though. No problem getting in using that road. Fred has a 50amp plug you can use to stay overnight as well.
I don’t think you need to top off your cruiseairs annually, but maybe every couple years. Fred stated they are built just like the ones in your residence, not like A/C units in your car, meaning there’s nothing to shake loose. I know our buses are rolling houses, but that was Fred’s opinion.

keep in mind the coils can get dirty, causing the cruise air units to loose efficiency and thus cooling capability. The picture above was my kitchen unit. (Port). Access is easy behind the panel once removed in bay#2 on the driver side.

I routinely clean my coils semi-annually, as well as the evaportor filters.
