Aquahot On & Off
Our Aquahot is acting strangely… works sometimes… It worked sitting in my driveway running heaters and hot water for a couple of weeks… took a weekend trip and it worked fine… hot water all the time.
Weather warmed up so I turned it off…several days later turned it on and “nothing” would not come on. Took another weekend trip and it would not come on so I used electric hot water and heat so we were fine. I tried several times over the weekend to start it up and it sounded like it fired and went then went off… but never stayed on and worked right.
When we got home I tried it again and it came on and worked fine… ofcourse it warmed up again and I have turned it off. I am trying to figure out why it would do this maybe a short somewhere? any ideas where to start would be appreciated.

I tried to get you a link to Mango’s Webasto manual, but no luck. It might be on the POG site, but if not see if Mike can get you a copy.
The fact it fires up and then shuts down suggests strongly that the portion of the Aquahot that is acting up is the Webasto unit. On first looking at the Webasto it might appear scary, but at POG I Jerry Winchester (JDUB) was able to disasemble his, install a new fuel pump and put it back together. If JDUB can fix one, anyone can fix one. Mango Mike’s manual is well illustrated and makes it easy to understand what to do. You might also be able to get a Webasto manual on line.

For those who may have wondered what the solution was… we had to replace the electronic ignition coil.
Everything is working as it should be now !!
