Intermittent Ghost, Now No Passenger Control
First and foremost if this should be in the Electrical section I apologize and feel free to move it.
Over the last couple of trips, a month or so, the passenger side of the HVAC control would intermittently turn off; I’d reach over and press the button to remedy the issue. It would run for 5 min or 5 hours. Last trip I also realized that the following tell-tale lights would nearly strobe – as if a loose ground; Master Switch, Battery Balance (Chassis), and Traction Control.
Now the problem has gotten out of hand. The tell-tale lights for Battery Balance and Master Switch are continuously on and MORE IMPORTANTLY the Passenger side of the HVAC control won’t turn on at all.
I have removed the dash cover and checked for loose connections in the dash along with the battery compartment and front/rear junction compartments. After studying the wiring diagrams and two days (5 hours or so) of tracing wires I’ve made no progress. I did however check to insure that the refrigerant level is satisfactory. Any Ideas?

I have had problems similar to that when two of my four chassis batteries were bad.
Check the voltage on each one of the chassis batteries.

I am not familiar with Vantare, but the balance light is easy to check at the Vanner Monitor.
Verify the 12 and 24 volt readings are correct with the engine running. 12 volt reading should be 1/2 of the 24 volt reading within 1/2 volt. If not then the balance light is telling the truth. If not, start there to find out if you have a problem with the alternator for the chassis, the equalizer or as Buddy says the batteries.

I had a similar event and it was the voltage regulator was failing,anytime there was a reduction in voltage the OTR air would drop off line.

Okay guys, I have checked the Voltage Regulator, the Chassis Batteries, and the Vanner system. All checked out ok. I then checked the inputs on the dash control for the HVAC, all the appropriate wires had the appropriate voltages/grounds. When I jumped a ground to wire (0-66-20) with the ignition on, the fan for the bus air came on. This is truly puzzling. It must have something to do with the Tell-Tale lights also remaining on. Hmmm

I also had a crimp connector on the field wire from the alternator that failed and caused the same problem with the alternator light on.
