I also have a Country Coach, 1995 conversion. The salon AC was having a cycling issue and
resulted in a damaged AC compressor. My
issue was the suction pressure was so low, it was causing the compressor to
cycle on/off. It appears my issue is the
suction hoses(restriction in AC lines) are crimped/pinched where they go through the coach floor. This has been a long term problem. I am replacing them now, what a PIB!
Additionally, I have installed pressure controls on the
condenser fans, cycling the condenser fans on/off with discharge pressure
swings. During the winter or moderate
temperature, with the condenser fans running all the time, the evaporators
would freeze up. Now the condenser fans
are off during this time.
It is not surprising
that Prevost will not repair the CC salon air. It is a complicated system and does not meet
the criteria of Prevost. It will take
time to sort out issues that do not fall into the “replace components” category.
At times, real troubleshooting is
required, meaning a firm knowledge of AC systems is required. I also tried the Prevost repair of the CC AC, no success.
Be sure and check for leaks.
The hose ends on mine needed to be recrimped to make a leak free system.
If you need to chat, PM me with your contact
phone and a good time to return your call.
I love talking Prevost stuff.
Good Luck,
Hector
