RVAC Compressor
Evening all. I have a 95 Vantare H3-45 that has a SCS RVAC Model 2702 dual stage central air unit with a bad #1 compressor. Would appreciate any leads on replacement compressor.

Don’t waste your time on a 25 year old AC. I just replaced mine with a new Coleman Two ton unit for $28000. By the time you get the old one fixed you could have that much invested and still have a 25 year old unit.
I did mine myself and the hardest part was remaking the duck work.

I found a replacement compressor for mine new on eBay and I changed both. $220 total I didn’t the install my self working great so far.

Curious on the Coleman, is it more efficient and quieter? Same size as rvac? Does it move more air pressure to the vents?

There are lots of people that sell the Coleman Two Ton units. I bought mine from My 12 Volt Store. Paid $2841.13 inc. freight. Could have been $1600 less because I ordered a Thermostat extra that I didn’t need. You do need the cable for the thermostat.
The unit is the same size as the old one, but you will need to redo the intake and outlet.

Well luck have it my rvac quit on me well one of the new compressors didn’t so I am going to make the jump and buy a Coleman unit, hopefully it cools better than the old rvac I will take some photos and post the process when I get it in. Guess I should have never commented on this topic lol

Jack would you mind sharing some photos how you routed your duct work and where you bought it at or made it of? I have a Coleman unit on order.

I have your same bus my rvac is on my 3 cargo door front to back driver side also have generator radiator in that compartment as well, do you notice better cooling compressor to the rvac it more air flow? If like my setup any issues with the generator radiator infront of the unit?

Before I put mine in I looked at two others to see what they did. The return air on the coleman is about half the size of the old unit. I cut the intake from the old unit in half and moved one over the other and screwed it back together. You don’t have to make it smaller, but by doing that your duck doesn’t have to be as large. I found air leaks in the old output duck so I used a flex duck for most of my output air. I had to buy enough for about 3 units, but it was the best way to go. You want the cold air upstairs not in the bay.
