Where is the vent?
I have heard that there is a Vent somewhere in the front of the bus which allows air to flow through for ventalation while moving. Is this true, and if so, where is it and how do you block it off?
I do notice smells from outside, more than normal, even when running OTR air on recirculate.

On mine it is a lever located just ahead of my left knee and just under the dash. -
Chuck, I don’t have a lever there on mine. I’ll keep looking.

Chuck and Jerry, you have two different systems. I believe Jerry has valves operated by the system automatically depending on what mode he selects on the controller, and Chuck has all manually operated valves to regulate defrost or recurculate.

I’ve got a 91 and don’t think I’ve ever seen a manual lever under there. Just knobs to turn to the right. But then again my wife says I don’t pay attention to nuttin!

I select recirculate on the OTR air, and I still get outside air in from somewhere. Not much, but enough to tell. Reminds me of “FLow thru ventalation” on some of the older cars.

True OTR has provision for recirculate but every conversion I have seen that has Prevost OTR blocks it off. The evaporator in the center of the coach is ducted to recirculate with the fresh air intake permanently sealed. It is easy to check. I don’t know how it is done on an H, but assuming Vantare did block it off they either disabled the outside air baffle control or added a cap or plate over the intake.
I don’t know how converters dealt with outside air on the driver’s air portion of the system, however I do know from experience that there can be leakage of outside air into the coach from somewhere in the front because this was an issue on a previous coach. That was not controllable, it was just an air leak that I eventually blocked.

Jon is right.
I have manual “valves” to control defrost and recirculate functions. I also have a shutter on the spare tire compartment that Liberty installed to protect the Cruisaires while under way. This shutter can be manually overridden with a switch on the panel.
I also have the lever I have mentioned that opens a “valve” admitting outside air directly into the cockpit.
Besides all this Prevost provides an air cylinder operated outside air intake damper that admits outside air (and dust) into my OTR system as well.
Jerry, perhaps you have this outside air intake damper (located on the port side) and it is in the open position. -

I’ve checked that, it is closed. I think it must be like Jon said, an air leak somewhere.

My leak was from somewhere beneath the dash and I couldn’t see it although I did not take the entire dash apart. It was blowing out from under the center console portion so I ultimately blocked it with a piece of foam.
It wasn’t an issue when using AC, but it was a real problem trying to stay warm because it just blew cold outside air around my legs.
