  • Liberty Ceiling Rope light Hack

Posted by Archived on January 30, 2017 at 3:31 pm

The Old plastic clips had deteriorated to a point that there were none left that would hold the Tivoli Ceiling Rope lights at all. I had to do something to keep them from falling in the floor. I stopped in a Advance Auto to get some of the good quality 3M Tape. Like you use on a Car vent Shade or something. I chose a Heavy Duty Trim version they had. My Lovely wife was good enough to stand on a Milk Crate and remove the remnants of the old clips. And about 50 -54 Screws. I cleaned and cleaned the Polished Aluminum Border that the lights attach to. Took 2.5 Beers ! There is a Lot of blemishes that would not come off. And You can even spot a fingerprint or Two that Come from The Factory. We placed a Small piece over each screw hole. And Making sure to twist and straighten out the Rope light , Because it has a Memory. I pressed it firmly into place. It turned out looking pretty Good. And She said , Now its Your Job to clean the Ceiling !

Side note ; We have had a Mirrored Handle off of one of the Bathroom Medicine Cabinet Mirrors for a few years now. It has a clear round Piece glued to the Mirror that the Mirror Handle was glued to. She said , I am going to try some of that tape to put that handle back on. I said , Honey Don’t waste Your Time , IT WILL NEVER WORK ! A little later She Mentioned it again , After about the 3rd time. I said well , Go ahead and try then, Just to get Her to Hush about it. So She did , And Held it firmly into place for a while. And as of right now, It has been 2 Days and it is still in Place. And strong enough to open The Vavity Door. Which is pretty firm with the Travel Latch !

we have had the same issue with our glass handles and just for future reference we tried the glue pin that cures with an ultraviolet light. Works great, is clear and no mess. Can get it at any hardware store.
