  • Inverters – Cold Weather Change

Posted by Archived on November 30, 2012 at 5:11 pm

All of a sudden my Inverters are showing a high float charge rate approaching 13.9 volts instead of the usual 13.4. After digging for answers and talking to Xantrex, I realized that cold temps will effect the charge rate settings if you have the temperature sensors installed. I unplugged the temp sensors and all is well.

I’m sure this has come up before, but CRS strikes again.

    Tom,

Why not leave the temperature sensors functionig? A higher float voltage is acceptable in the cold has is a lower float volatge when the batteries are hot.

    Curious,
