Knowing that is a Prevost front electrical panel I suspect the plug for the existing camera / monitor already has a reverse signal in the plug. Why not check there first?

The blue wire was not connected to anything, the blue wire from camera was capped off.

On the big trucks we will tap into the turn signals if the relay is not available and for the reverse signal we tap into the reverse lights/wire harness going to the rear lights.
There should be a modulator that handles the pulse of the signal and gives constant power to the side view cameras.
Cant be more specific about a Prevost but its the same concept.

All of my coaches were set up to turn on the camera as soon as I put the transmission in reverse. It was a nice feature and I understand its purpose, but since my camera is on 100% of the time that feature isn’t important.

Yes on mine as soon ar I put it in reverse the system is triggered by the blue wire going to the monitor, We have finished the 06 XL2 we have the side cameras mounted wired up and trigger wires I wired to front blinkers so they come on when key is on and blinkers are turned on, Last thing is the reverse trigger blue wire needs to be connected. If anyone has a dash and front power panel schematic they could send to me that would be great
