Vanner Replacement
I drove the bus yesterday for a test ride 25 miles after replacing the OEM Vanner 60-100 equalizer and the OEM Vanner EM70D monitor. After seeing Don’s 60-100 all burned up I decided to replace mine, I bought a Vanner 66-100 equalizer and I had a new Vanner EM70D monitor in my extra parts. I pulled off the 60-100 and EM70D and took the back off the 60-100 and it looked perfect but time to go. I mounted the EQ 1st then the monitor but I added the 6 1 amp fuse box to monitor and then added the 2 reset able breakers to the EQ on the #6 cables from batteries to EQ, 120 amp breaker on the 12v side and 80 amp breaker to the 24v side all as per Vanner. The old EQ ever time I started the Detroit after about 20 seconds or so the balance light would come on for 5 or 10 seconds. Before The test drive I checked the power with my meter and all voltage checked out started up engine and no Balance light, On the new 66-100 there is a green LED up in left hand corner that was on when there is a 12v draw and on EM760D monitor there is a green LED in the same bank as all the wire plugs. Drove 25 miles pumped some fuel in at the truck stop fired up again no balance light at ALL, Is that normal?? It’s funny I can’t remember when you turn key on all the light come on for a test but no balance light, I think I will check with Vanner. After I parked with my meter I checked battery Volts and 12v exactly half of the 24v side. Im sure it’s fine but I will still check? Any comments on this???
