Passengers headlight goes out
Headlights where replaced with round HIDs by a previous owner. Passengers headlight does not come on all the time. I have replaced both of the CAN bus transformers, both of the HID bulbs and the 15 Amp breaker for the headlights. Passengers headlight still doesn’t come on all the time. If I turn the key off then on again or turn the breaker off and on the passengers headlight will come back on and stay on.
Have checked all the power leads and grounds, all are good. Bumps in the road do not effect the light. Only issue with it not coming on is when the lights are first turned on & that’s not consistent. Passengers light will come on by it’s self sometimes. Drivers side has no issue, drivers side always works.
struggling to figure this one out.

Who did the headlight replacement? Maybe they can shed some light on the problem. No pun intended.

Previous owner had the lights changed, no documentation left behind. Do not know who did the headlight change. Although no pun intended its pretty good LOL.

The reason I asked is there is a shop in FL that has done the headlight swap, and I know two people who had it done, and then had to pay serious money to another shop to have their repaired properly.

I installed those kind of head lights in my other coach don’t come on first time every time just try again good lights I have extra set in side compartment

That is exactly what happens with mine. If it doesn’t come on the first time I just turn off the lights then back on and it works. Just find it strange that it only happens to the passengers side when both sides have had the Can-bus ballast and light bulb replaced.

I hear what your saying about finding the original installer. I just don’t have any documentation on the light chance out. I do know the bus was in Arizona for it’s first 11 years then in Louisiana for the next 6 years.

going to throw a little past experience with you. Before installing up grade I decided with engine running at head light sockett I had only 10.6V instead of the 13plus (with engine running ) there should have been. Got into it and found out that would let lights power up to less than 30% effective. 100% is around 12.6 V. So solution wasn’t wiring but all the switches etc it had to go thru. Engineer friend set me straight . let the light switch activate another power source that could supply Cube relay that would supply the needed voltage. Several years ago I posted this to forum. Just looked up the wiring for my head lights. (Photo attached). I do see something that is on the passengers side (circled on drawing).
Problem is I really don’t understand electrical drawings and I am not sure what I am looking at (circled).
Maybe someone that understands what they are looking at in this drawing could explain. -
In this case “C243” is Connector 243. Most all of the Prevost wiring is labeled as are the connectors.

Wire code R=relay in this case referring to power transfer from 24 V signal to 12Vsupply to headlight. Numbers on wire 12=V 2nd number = circuit/wire number 3rd #= wire size.. If you look you relay (R19 R20) takes a 24V signal from light switch and tells it to supply 12V power to headlights. Cb= circuit breaker in top compartment under toll window. relay 19 &20 are in same compartment to your upper left. Looks like a black ice cube plugged in there is a Number tatoo on place it plugs in. I have seen them also behind dash bottom right of steering wheel accesable from under side. there is a chart available in same place you got your diagram that gives you all the wire codes. from prevost car enter the last letter in your serial. should be Y (year of shell mfg) plus last 4 digits(unit number) example mine is W-6553. All wires are tatoo every few inches. Red=24V Yellow=12V your grounds will be black. I would look at relays 19 and 20. The diagram you have is for a 4 headlight coach. Hope this helps a little. Checked front junction box under drivers side window. top row just off center to right . got to look from top on strip they are plugged into to relay number. R19 and R 20 are next to each other mine are 30/40 amp @24 V.

Starting to make some sense out of this, found the R19 & R20 you referred to. There has been modifications made (see attached pictures). Not sure I understand electricity enough to know why, but I do not think this modification is part of my problem. If I am beginning to understand things (and that’s a big IF) the modifications done would effect both low beam headlights but not cause just the passengers side to not come on.
Red circles on the one picture shows the relay in the back ground that is indicated in the modification drawing.

I’m out on that mod..wrong relays and ends not finished. Plus sure bypasses allot..Opinion only. Bob
