Crickets from ignition switch
First time in a month at the coach. Went to start it and get nothing from the ignition switch. Ignition switch seemed lose so I tightened it. Switch to on, Dash come to life, turn to start nothing. Try several more times and get same thing.
Thinking it may be the ignition switch I go to NAPA and buy a new switch. Replace the switch. Same result.
Any ideas? I need to get the coach from storage to its new home 4 miles away. Having Thanksgiving visitors that will be staying in the coach this week.
It is best to call my cell. 864-752-7678. Gladly will pay for assistance in getting this resolved.

Cycled the 24v and 12v switches. She turned right over. However, Tammie said she saw a spark, looked like it jumped from the two batteries closest to the fire wall that is under the 24 and 12 cut off switches. I do not see any spark marks anywhere but she says she saw it when the coach turned on.

Ron,
Assuming there are no obvious potential causes such as loose or corroded connections my starting point is to check the batteries individually which is a pain but the only way I know to verify you will have all the power you need available to spin the engine. If in fact there was a spark that is usually an indication of a poor connection.

Thanks, Jon. I did a quick check on every post. I took her out for a 45 minute spin. I sure do love this big ole girl.
It got too dark to try to get her into her new home for today so she is back in her normal enclosed bay. I am off this week and will plan to bring the girl home tomorrow.
Two if the boy’s are in from school to help me tomorrow. Third is in from school on Tuesday.
I will post another update if she does the same thing tomorrow.

Ron: How long have you had the coach? How old are your chassis batteries? How long had the coach been sitting? Do you have an onboard 24 volt battery charger hooked up the chassis batteries?
Some of us would like to know where the sparking occurred. It went from what to where.
When you’re up front in the driver’s seat, its impossible to hear what is going on the engine bay; even on a 40′ coach. The starter maybe clicking and I doubt you’d ever know it. When you turn the key to the “on” position does the chassis volt meter on the dash register anything? If so, what? When you turn the key to engage the starter, what does the volt meter register then? It is dropping?
I’ve found its important to know what the gauges say in various coach conditions, configurations, situations, etc. so that it becomes easy to tell when something is amiss. Or if something isn’t working right, I can check the various gauges to determine what is out of wack and what isn’t.

Checking at each post is ineffective. The batteries have to be separated to get the true condition.
