Outlets
Posted by Darrell on January 4, 2018 at 12:31 pmHappy New Year everyone, my hope is you might be able to help me solve a problem with my For and aft outlets, I have lost power to all, the breakers are not tripped and the GFI outlets are not tripped. I have even started the generator to see if there was a problem with the shore power. Any suggestions ? We have a 1996 Liberty 45XL
thanks
Darrell

Al Liberty outlets are on the inverters and each inverter has one of the banks of outlets.
But the way Liberty wired power from the inverters if the inverter(s) are failing to pass inverter power or shore / generator power through to the outlets you would not be getting power to the refrigerator, aux compressor, microwave, or any other circuits on inverters.
So my first question is are you getting power to the refrigerator or microwave? If the answer is yes then it appears you are not getting anything from your inverter circuits. If the answer is no then the problem is unrelated to the inverters and could be an issue with outlet circuits exclusively (which I doubt).
My first reaction is to verify the inverters are providing pass through power. I think you have Freedom 2500 inverters and in addition to making sure you have power going to them via battery charge circuit breaker #1 and #2 do you have battery power going to them via the master DC power switches. The Freedom 2500 inverters have switches on the face panel that should be in the “off” position as long as the inverter is connected to the remotes. What are the remote panels displaying?

I have mental problems today and I think the previous post was wrong. If you are getting power to other devices like the refrigerator then the problem with the outlets is not inverter related.
I probably should not be drinking or using uncontrolled substances when I try to respond.

Thanks Jon for responding, trying to figure this out could cause me to enjoy some controlled substance. I have power at the microwave, fridge and the outlet above the dash. There is no power under the table, bathroom, above the sink, behind the drivers seat and bedroom outlets.
Inverters show AC input, charging and look normal, I’m stumped

Could it be a GFI in a bay or inside a cabinet..I have several outlets inside cabinets that are GFI but wouldn’t think one would affect so many plugs like you mention.

While reading Jon’s initial 3:46 PM post, I thought HUH? Then it dawned on me that Mr. Mark was out in California and pot was legalized Jan 1st. It appears that Mr. Mark may have sent Jon a belated Christmas gift of pot laced cookies and brownies. You the guilty party Mr. Mark?

Mr. Fred….. If someone received any special ingredients, it was NOT from me.
Carry on!

Darrel,
The problem is outlet related so if I were to start chasing the problem I would begin by looking for GFCI outlets that have tripped.
One that is out of sight is the one under the kitchen cabinets near the microwave.

Thank you, I will start at the back and work forward checking all of the outlets. As always you all are great. I will let you know what I find

Since there are variations in coach floor plans and locations of some devices such as the GFCI outlets I am not sure any of us can give you specific locations to look, but the one on the underside of the kitchen cabinets is one of them and being out of sight it is easily overlooked. I think the GFCI for the rear outlets is located in the bath area and if your floor plan has a private toilet it might be in there, or it could be on a vanity. Good luck.

Libby, on our 96 Liberty “Classic” the interior plugs/outlets are power thru inverter #2, and are controlled by two CB/switches in the electrical compartment next to the refrigerator. They are labeled FWD OUTLETS & REAR OUTLETS.
Our coach has 3 GFCI. One on the afore mentioned electrical cabinet, one next to the toilet, and another in the first curbside bay on the ceiling. To reset a GFCI they need to have power to it. If the CB/switch in the electrical compartment for the GFCI is off, or if the associated inverter is off, or has failed, it will not reset.
And sometimes GFCI will fail. I had to replace the one one the side of our electrical cabinet.
