  • “BAL” Light troubleshoot

Posted by William on September 30, 2015 at 9:02 pm

New member here, I have a 94 “Royale Coach”, (Monoco conversion), 8V-92. Examining the threads on this forum, I’m sure I need to replace the Vanner Monitor. Can anyone give me a clue as to where it is please? I’ve seen pictures on this forum but for the life of me I can’t locate it. Thank you in advance Bill

It will be in the side engine bay door on the right side of door

It is about 4″ square, and it is on the bulkhead above the chassis batteries, is black with a white label.

But do not replace it unless you have determined it has failed. Assume the warning light is correct until you have checked voltages.

The Vanner Equalizer (to which the Vanner Monitor is wired to) might be the problem versus the Vanner Monitor, unless you’ve already checked out the Vanner Equalizer and found that to be properly working.

Here is the link for a previous post regarding the Vanner models melting down.

If you have an “A” model, change it ASAP.

Had an issue a couple years ago with BAL light and it was a bad battery.

Dick, The guy that works on the coach found it. Replaced batteries and light hasn’t came back on for a couple years or better. He also said if house battery bank has a bad one and charge though vanners running down road could cause an imbalance also. I didn’t have a clue.
