Trace Inverter ShutDown
So we’re camping up in Colordado Springs and a storm rolled thru last night. I thought we lost power in the middle of the night, but actually lost Inverter Power.
So I reset the Inverters and the system went back to normal. However, during the night, the Inverters powered off, then powered back on maybe five or six times. House Batts were good also. Incoming shore power was 118v on each leg.
Any guesses on why my Inverters would shut down and then they would re-start themselves within 10 minutes or so … multiple times?
Everything was good with both Inverters when I woke up this morning…

It sounds as though you are losing shore power. You can verify that by looking at the AC1 input which is probably zero since you’re inverting. Also, unless you have changed the charge settings, every time you lose shore power, the inverters go to bulk charge as soon as power comes back. Suggest you set the bulk/absorption charge time to zero so they stay in float while you sort this out.

Does it show an error code when it shuts down? Maybe low or high voltage?

Read the owner’s manual more thoroughly about the “error codes”. Learned much and believe it was low Shore power voltage coming in the coach as Tom indicated.
Of course, the problem was that at 2:30 am, I didn’t feel like reading the manual which would have told me to go to the “error menu” to determine the exact cause. Just not sure why I can’t have this type of incident happen in daylight when it’s not storming outside :).

While talking with a fellow Prevost driver today about Trace inverters, a suggestion is to check the transfer switch on the coach. A problem there can throw off symptoms appearing to be inverter related.
