  • Under Sink cabinet lights – Marathon

Posted by Tim on November 23, 2016 at 4:21 pm

On my coach, the fuses for the lights are in the back passenger side near all the tech link equipment. I recently had to change a blown fuse for my closet light & the fuse was easy to spot since it turns red when you blow the fuse.

However, I have two of my under sink cabinet lights not working & I think it’s a fuse. But in the back where I thought all these fuses were, there is no red light indicator glowing, which would show which fuse it was. I could pull all the fuses to check individually, but there are like 25 fuses and, it could be located somewhere else.

Any Marathon Boys have any ideas if there are light fuses in more than one place?

If you have any removable panels on the walls in your galley or salon there are wago boards and some fuses in there.

My under lighting is fused in the walls, you have to hunt. Leon can give you the board number for that circuit.

I tripped a breaker for one of the undercounter lights in my galley when I was changing to LED bulbs. On my coach there are many of the breakers you describe in the rear of the coach but also above the entry door in the front of the bus which is where I found the one I had tripped. Hope this helps.

Also check that you did not bend the microswitch that turns on the light by accident.

Getting back to this issue after a couple days, I do have power coming into the receptacle so it has to be a switch or light bulbs. But all four light bulbs going out is highly unlikely.

    Tim,

We have the same kinds of lights, and ours under the kitchen sink, all are out. One of our fixtures is really rusty too.

Only one bulb is working under the bathroom sink. There has got to be an LED alternative bulb and or fixture.

    What say you chromeman?

As long as power is coming in, I may just change out the whole fixture to LED. Amazon has some very reasonable alternatives. But if there are LED bulbs that simply plug & play, that would be great too!

As a follow up, I have 13.2v coming in two different receptacles which work. However, I only get 11.5v in another receptacle which I can’t get to work.

How do I boost the voltage to this one receptacle to get it over 12v? Or, what do you think is the issue?

My guess would be you have corrosion on wire and/or connectors or the light fixture itself.

A volt meter requires only miniscule amount of current but not enough current is flowing to light your bulb.

Follow the supply wires upstream until you reach full voltage. Don’t forget to check grounds for good contact.
