  • Leviton Surge Protector error

Posted by Jeff on July 11, 2017 at 11:11 am

Speaking of Surge Protector’s……. I just got this issue with mine sending the audiable and visual alarm.

This is the hard wired Leviton Mfg.Co. Inc. Cat No. 32120-001

The alarm is sounding and the “Fault” light is blinking. This typically goes on when I have only one of 2 legs making power on a shore power cheater box. By cheater box, I refer to the adapter that combines 2 30amp into 1 50amp adapter. As far as I know, this box has never warned me against bad power at an RV park.

I’m at a park now. I’ve already tried one other 50amp power next to me at the park and no change and leaning toward faulty surge protector that may need to be reset, if that is even an option.

Both legs in the coach have power, not just one leg, which is when I typically get a the audible error with the blinking red fault switch. I’m trying to look for the manual on line now but even if I locate it I might get better input here.

How old is the surge protector? Maybe its old, getting “soft”, and needs replacement.
