  • Dayton Blower motor for 2000 Vantare at TGO

Posted by John on April 24, 2015 at 2:16 pm

Closing up my mother-in-laws 2000 Vantare for summer and noticed loud noise coming from the battery compartment.

The noise is from the motor for the blower to circulate air in the battery compartment. The motor was really hot too.

Concerened about leaving it in this condition. Dayton Blower model 4C754 no longer available. Found cross reference for Dayton model 1TDR2.

Questions: Does anyone know if this will fit without modification?

How difficult a job will it be to change myself?

Does anyone know where I could get one near TGO?

    Thanks in advance.

    What is
your location, are you in Florida at the Great out Doors Resorts? If so please
call me I would be happy to help. When Grainger’s offer a replacement

Update on blower motor for 2000 Vantare at TGO.

A special thank you Prevost Community and especially to dukeflyer01 for coming to my rescue. Ever since joining Prevost Community I have benefited from the overwheming knowledge and willingness to help of all members. I have spent hours and hours reading the posts and articles. I was thrilled to meet one of the members and benefit from the community in action.

When I discovered the problem with the blower, I was sure I would get help through the PC community. Within an hour, dukeflyer01 had responded to my post and was on his way to meet me at the coach. After an inspection, and an offer to help with the replacement I was on the hunt for the replacement part. I was able to get a replacement at Grainger and was ready for my first Prevost repair.

Dukeflyer01 was there first thing in the morning the next day and we were off and running. I would have never attempted the repair on my own. As with any other repair, there were more things in the way than what we had to replace. After several trips back home to get more tools, dukeflyer01 had the old blower removed. After getting the new blower in place and reconnnecting the wiring with the help of his friend John the electrician to make sure all the connections were correct. Another example of the power of the Community and the willingness to help other members. Dukeflyer01 then gave me the opportunity to complete the job and do all the reattachment and reinstallment of everything we had to move and remove.

I have to admit, that it was a struggle, and that I was nervous, but with the knowledge and confidence of having the PC community behind me and dukeflyer01, I accepted the challenge. Of course, dukeflyer01 did return to check on my progress and make sure everything was done correctly. Everything was back in order, and the coach was ready for storage.

I would like to thank Tradewinds Coach & Marine for their gracious offer to help. If dukeflyer01 was not there, I would have brought the coach to Tradewinds without hesitation. I have been very impressed with Tradedwinds reviews and willingness to respond to the forum questions. I will try to convince my mother-in-law to bring the coach to Tradewinds for service when she returns to TGO in the fall. My call to the repair facility where she has been taking the coach for years was not returned.

Once again thanks to Jon and Tom, and all the members, especially dukeflyer01, that make the PC community the wonderful organization that it is.
