  • No Power in Outlets in the bays

Posted by Eric on June 23, 2014 at 7:44 pm

I have a 1995 Prevost Country Coach. When pushing the TV tray back into the bay, the electrical cord was pinched which led to sparks and the GFI electrical outlet being tripped. Now there is no power going to the outlet and none of the outlets in any of the bays works. I thought all of the 120 V systems ran through the breaker box in the bedroom. I have reset all of the breakers, replaced the GFI outlet and nothing is plugged into any of the outlets. I don’t know of any other place to check for a fuse or a breaker? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

On my 99 CC there is a breaker box in the second bay where I access the transfer switch and the TV. This breaker box controls the refrigirator and some of the outlets on each side of the coach. Check these breakers if you have this box. Also there are more GFIC plugs that some of the other outlets in the coach are hoked to so if one of them is triped you will have no power down stream from these plugs. In other words, they were protecting other plugs with one GFIC plug.

    Gil,

Thank you for your reply. My coach has the same box on the side wall in the back in the same bay as the entertainment system. One of the breakers would not engage until I took off the power line out of the GFI. This led to the outlet that was connected to the TV before the short occured. I put in a new outlet and now everything is back to working as it should. Thanks again,

    Eric

That was harsh. But actually quite funny. He takes shots at us from over on POG so the humor apparently can cross web sites.

I received a reply on this forum and received an email with the same information as well, both had a 99 CC. I have the problem resolved; thank you to both.
