Posted by Les on May 21, 2017 at 7:05 pmAnyone with a Spyder Control system having problems with functions controlling lights, shades, and other modalities? This could include indicator lights in all the switch panels in the coach.

What is going on? Intermitant issues, or failure to operate….Sounds like it is most of the functions within the spyder controls….??

Les, sounds like the power supply board is going bad or maybe already gone. Its a weak link on the ground pin on that board Ben should have some repaired boards in his possesion and its something that can be done by you with a little guideance from ben over the phone. I have done an 06 like yours and had to replace mine as well, good luck Bill

Forgot to tell you, you should have manuel switch function on the spyder board behind the tv in the entertainment bay if your stuck on the road with the bus

Thanks for the replies. I was having a problem. All of the switch panels went to red. No longer green when off – red when on. To make the long story short, the failure was in the primary backplane board. The seven pin connector at the left lower corner was failing due to excessive heat of over current. The backplane board that I had in there was a rebuilt board to the extent of two wires soldered on to replace two of the pins on the connector. The solution was to replace the complete pin connector with soldered wires to be connected with crimp connectors. Yes, a new off board multi pin connector could be used, I did not have one handy and wanted the job done.

This pic shows the board I rebuilt. Notice only four wires off the board. This is due to three of the wires being groundwires and all connected together.
