Side clearance lights/turn signals
Hello All,Happy New Year,
I have a question and dont want to go to the trouble right now of asking Prevost direct,So I thought I would ask here and see what the opinion was. Can you special order extra lights down the side of your coach? I know in 98 when I ordered a new coach they wouldnt do it because of the size of the wire and amperage of the lights,They said they would have to completely rewire the whole coach to amke that happen!!! But NOW with LED lights that draw a very small amount of juice,I bet the complete side of the coach lighting doesnt draw what one light did before,I would think you could get this done!! Any Ideals ?? Just putting final touches together!!! Hope ALL had a Merry Christmas and are having a Happy New Year!

I’ll give you a non-answer.
At one time, and maybe even today Prevost supplied lights to suit the converter’s wishes. Liberty has 5 lights each for parking lights and turn signals for a total of 10 on each side. I have seen other conversions with 3 each for a total of 6 on each side.
However, the current production of coaches uses a multiplex system, and that system literally measures the current draw on each circuits and if the amount varies from what is programmed the system posts a message about detecting a fault. So that feature which is great because it alerts a driver to a potential short circuit or light failure also prevents the owner or converter adding or changing lights and other devices that draw more or less current.
My non-answer guess is Prevost can add lights, but the task of doing so is not just running some additional wire and mounting a few more lights, but also includes reprograming the master module to reflect the correct number of lights specific to that coach. Think about that because you likely do not want a non-standard module unless the service centers can service or replace your module by downloading the software to your coach.

Thanks for the answer,I was under the impression that the side lights were wired on seperate wires from the junction box at least thats how it was in 98 on the last new one I had. The new multiplex wiring is news to me,I have a lot to learn on these new coaches!!! LOL Thank you for always being there with the answer!!!! I am wanting about 8 lights per side doubled with the turn signals under them so it would be 16 lights per side i guess!!! then I guess the converter can add the driving lights and back-up lights to there 12v system!!! plus I may want some additional lights undr the front bumper!!! I am scared of the darkLOL!!!!

Be sure to place your lights where when you sit outside at night they are not shining in your face !! We have only 3 on each side on our H and its ample light when sitting outside… just be careful.
