  • Keyless Entry Code

Posted by Greg on June 10, 2013 at 10:01 pm

Is there any easy way to re-program the keyless entry code. I just purchase the coach from a dealer, they are trying to get me the code from the previous owner, but I do not have it yet.

Yes they are programmable. But before you do that you need to know the master code.

It is possible your entry code is on a label on the driver’s side steer compartment door. On two of my coaches it has been on the upper left side of the door. If it is not there you can find the door lock module under the RH side of the dash. Usually the converter has a removeable panel under the dash on the RH side of the entry. The master code is on the door lock module.

If you supply proof of ownership to Prevost (you should do that anyway so you can get the coach maintenance history) you might be able to get that information from Prevost.

I just did this on mine and the master code was on the cable connecting my module and was written with a sharpie and was located behind an airduct panel on the right side of my dash

I was able to get the previous owner to provide me with the code. However, you use the last 2 buttons to lock the door and bays, but can you use the entry door touch pad to then unlock the bays? On other coaches that I have had, you pressed 3 to unlock the bays at the keyless entry touch pad.

On my last two coaches as you describe the last two buttons pressed simultaneously will lock the door and bays. After entering the entry code the door will unlock, but by pressing the second button from the left immediately after the entry code the bays will unlock.

On our coach, hitting the “3/4” button after entering the entry code unlocked he storage bays.

Do you need the instructions for re-programming the personal code? I’m going to pick up my coach this afternoon and will pull the instructions from the manual if you need them.

    Keyless Entry System

    By using this system, you can lock or unlock the entrance door and the baggage and serivce compartment doors. The master code in the microprocessor/relay module is preprogrammed by the manufacturer and connot be deleted. The master code is printed on the decal affixed to the keyless system microprocessor/relay module in the fron console;

When you use the keyless entry system, the keyboard and stop lights illuminate. Although each button is provided with two digits separated by a virtical line, there is only one contact per button. Press in the center of the button (between the two digits, on the vertical line).

You must unlock the entrance door before you unlock any other baggage or service compartment door. If you let more than five seconds pass between the numbers you press, the system shuts down, and you have to enter your code again. If the keyless entry system does nto work properly, use the key to lock or unlock entrance or compartment doors.

    Keyless Operating Instructions

    1. To unlock the entrance door, enter the five digits of the code. After pressing the fifth digit, the door will unlock. During the night, press any button to illuminate thekeyboard, then enter the code.

    2. When presssing any button, the keybaord lights up for five seconds and the stip lights illuminate for twenty-five seconds.

    3. To unlock thebaggage and serivce compartment doors, press button 3/4 within five seconds of entering the code.

    4. To lock entrance door and compartments all at the same time, press buttons 7/8 and 9/0 at the same time.

    Programming Your Personal Code

You can program a personal code to unlock the entrance door and compartments. This code does not replace the permanent code that is programmed into the system. Use your personal code in the same manner that you would use the original code.

    1. Choose and memorize your personal code.

    2. Enter the original code, and within five seconds, press button 1/2. (i found that by original code they mean the perm code not some other previous personal code)

    3. Within five seconds of pressing button 1/2, enter your personal code, pressing each button witin five seconds of the previous digit. The keyboard light will immediately turn OFF if the code is correctly entered.

The keyless entry system registers yoru personal code. To unlock the entrance door, you can use either code.

to erase your personal code, enter the original code, press button 1/2. tjem wait six seconds.

Now if I forget or loose my manual I can come back here to find the instructions. Hope this helps.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the keyless entry? I bought a 1998 Prevost and the Keyless Entry does not work.
