  • Main Electrical Panel Display, Line Voltage & Amps

Posted by Dave on November 23, 2014 at 8:32 pm

We have just purchased an 2001 XLII Liberty. The Line 1 and Line 2 Voltage and Amperage Display has gone dark and is no longer reflecting current conditions. We do have all systems functioning, but can’t track loading. We are on shore power (displayed) and show inverter power. Inverter readouts for Inverter 1 and 2 are both working, as are indicator lights for circuit breakers.

Where (or How) do I correct, reset the display. We did not receive any Liberty Electrical Schematics, but do have the Prevost.

    Thanks for your help.

That is a Jeff or Liberty question, but I would want to clarify what I think you are saying. With the exception of the red displays that show voltage and amps for both legs of the electrical panel you indicate everything is working.

In other words you have shore power into the coach and all load center circuits have power? You have power to all functions (or will if you turn on the circuit breaker) including those that are not powered by the inverters?

Additionally, on the inverter remote panels you show good battery voltage as well as charging current and the little green circuit breaker lights next to the battery charger #1 and #2 circuits are lit?

If so it sounds like the input(s) for the displays is not attached. I have never dealt with that but logic suggests that is the problem. I just had my load center panel out last week but didn’t pay attention to how the display is connected or where it gets inputs.

do the displays have a dim or on and off feature that needs resetting?

If you haven’t called Jeff, call Liberty, they’ll help.

You are correct. All circuits are functioning as expected, I just don’t have the readouts of the current voltage and amperage for each leg.

Inverter displays show connections, good voltage and charging.

It acts like a fuse that supplies power to the display has blown.

I will try to call Jeff tomorrow.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

An update to the dark display for readouts of Voltage and Amperage on Liberty panel.

I pullled the panel, located the power feed to the displays. Marked as A8

Found the A8 power supply on the 12 Volt fuse panel, discovered a 10 amp fuse blown. Replaced and all is OK. Not sure what caused the fuse to blow, will continue to monitor.

Does anyone have the LIberty Electrical schematics for the 2001 XLII series? Can’t image they are too much different. It certainily would have been easier to trouble shoot with the schematics.

    Thanks for all the help.

I don’t know of any diagrams, but the Liberty owner’s manual for your coach will likely have all the wire and circuit numbers for your various electrical systems and devices. If you don’t have the manual perhaps Liberty or an owner of your vintage coach can supply copies.
