  • Inside bay light change-over LED

Posted by AL on January 23, 2014 at 3:04 pm

Prevost installed inside cargo bay lights are 24 volt. I have sourced the LED bulbs that are 24 volt LED and sized to fit existing Prevost factory housing.

The existing bulbs are festoon style most common in dome lights in passenger vehicles. Prevost used a 10 watt 24 volt bulb for bay lighting. With the LED change over the increased light is substantial.

The original bulb removed is the festoon @ 10 amp. This replacement 6 light LED fits into the existing lamp housing with clearance all around. Part number used for change over will be exact voltage (24 v ) and the exact length. I was not aware the inside bay lights were 24 volt until looking at the old bulb. FWIW…. I even got the tester out just to confirm the 24 volt and it is.

I would suggest that you “order by phone” requesting this part number. Did have a length issue in this bulb and the first

bulbs arrived short by about 1/4 inch. Also, using this part number will be 24 volt. # 4210-CWHP6 @ $14.95 each. It is available in an 3 bulb LED which I did order to try @ $7.95. You get what you pay for.

    Peter,

I spent some time locating a quality supplier of LED products. Looking for the good stuff with a low, low failure rate.

Like NAPA parts, just slipped that in .

Have you experienced any failures ? You have pretty good temp swings in your neck of the country, giving a good

    test.
