Cargo Door switch electrical operation
I am trying to understand the electrical operation of the cargo door switch. It is a push-in device that is compressed when the cargo door is closed. The back of the switch has 2 electrical spade tabs but they are electrically common. It is a U-shaped, stamped part. I don’t see how it acts as a switch, electrically speaking. Can anyone enlighten me?

I think you pretty much have it figured out.
It “makes” (or completes) the circuit when the door is open. And “opens” the circuit when the door is closed.

Yes, problems. Including problems with Prevost / Winter Garden. Said that they fixed and “verified”. Apparently they verified that they did not fix it. When I got the coach back there were three cargo doors with switches not installed…..
Easy enough to install switches by myself. 1 screw and 2 spade connections.
My confusion: If you look at my original photo, those 2 spade connections are actually a U-shaped “saddle” of stamped metal. The 2 spades are electrically the same piece of metal. They are not isolated and connect-able via the spring loaded plunger. They are constant “make”. I understand simple electrical circuits. This “switch” looks to me as if it is no more than a “jumper”.

So theoretically, if I unplug all the switches then the circuit is guaranteed open and the dash warning light would extinguish. Correct?

That switch probably controls the light in basement too?
Is dash light a door unlocked rocker or a door open warning?

Throwing “theoretically” pretty freely! With a multiplex coach you (Prevost) can program a swittch (open or closed) to do almost anything, or multiple anythings.
What problem are you having or trying to fix?????

I had trouble with 2 bay doors throwing a message on dash. While at Prevost both of these door lights were disabled on the multiplex system.
End of issue on 2007 Marathon H triple slide.
