  • XL bags lowered or not

Posted by Calvin on January 5, 2021 at 12:28 pm

To avoid the eventual left or right leaning during storage problem, does it hurt anything to store my’94 Liberty XL with bags deflated?

    Thanks in advance

This not the answer you will get from Prevost. But it is 20 years of experience.

Our driveway and entry into the bus garage mandates a specific sequence of over inflating and lowering the air bags on our coaches. The sort version of the needed sequence is I need to raise the front fully with the drive and tag axles at driving height at the bottom of the driveway.

I back up to the garage door, at which point I stop and lower the rear all the awy down. I back 75% of the coach into the garage, at which point I stop and lower the front all the way down. The coach is left that way for however long it takes to unload clothes, laundry and food.

Then I raise the coach to its maximum height and put supports under the chassis support points. then I dump all air in the suspension so the coach is at its highest, supported by stands, and only axle and wheel weight is on the tires.

The entire procedure is reversed when I pull out of the garage and proceed down the driveway.

I have never had an air bag fail prematurely or suffer any known damage to anything as a result of my use of the suspension to get the bus in or out of the garage.

Thanks Jon – sounds like you’ve got it well under control!
