Static Strap
Saw a reference to a static strap attached to bottom of a Prevost.Does anyone have one on their coach?Supposedly Prevost sells them for 10 dollars.

OK, I give up what is a static strap and what is the purpose?

Dadej, I wondered the same thing when I saw it my coach.
“They” say that it keeps it grounded. Actually, I thought the rubber tires would do that.
I have 60,500 miles on my coach and strap, it’s still touching the ground, not sure how many miles they last.

If you don’t go over the speed bumps to fast you should be able to keep the coach grounded. LOL

Static Strip
To dissipate static electricity that builds on the bus to ground. Rubber, like tires are an isolator, where as the “strip” helps to discharge and prevent a shock upon entering or leaving the bus. Yes, they have steel threads in them the static electricity travels thru to the ground. Scrubbing you feet across carpet during winter, you touch something, boom a shock. Carry a steel threaded strap and touch something after scrubbing feet- no shock since the strap with thread in it touch item before your skin does. The static gets grounded out before skin touch item surface

I never had the shock problem leaving a vehicle until I owned a ’99 Ford truck. I now own a ’01 Ford truck and it does the same thing. I also have an ’07 Ford Freestar van that shocks upon exit.
Never had this problem before or with any other type vehicle. Is it cause of the cloth seats and rug or is it something inherent in the electrical setup?
Starting to feel like Pascal’s dog.
