steer compartment
The hole in the steer compartment where steering arm passes through the rubber is shot does anyone do anything with this?

Yes it helps keep the environment out of the steering compartment. I bought the Prevost part for $100, then went to Menards and bought a roll of the same rubber material for $100 (about eight years ago). Menards markets it as EPDM rubber roofing. It is a 10′ x 20′ roll and is enough to make several of what you need, probably six or ten. I used the oem part as a pattern and made four.
So that I would not have to disconnect the drag link, I sewed the cone shape together with a sewing awl after installing it around the drag link. If you are sewing awl friendly, I can send you one pro bono.

The Prevost part number for my vintage is 160931. But this was in March 2009, so it may be superseded and Prevost Parts will know.

I have wondered what to do about that. The boot is in bad shape on mine.
