Lost passenger front windshield
My front passenger had a small crack it it that had been repaired, Going through AZ on HWY10 the crack kept going.That is a rough road in some places. How is Availability on XL windshields??? and what is the cost???

I cannot speak to the availability or cost, but can say if you get a replacement it is a 20 minute job to replace one.
The windshields for an XL left or right are the same. Pull the cord from the gasket and use a plastic flat strip between the glass and the gasket to work the glass out.
Use soapy water or some appropriate lubricant and push the replacement glass as deep as possible into the gasket, usually the center and bottom of the opening, and then use the plastic strip to work the gasket around the remainder of the glass.
There is a tool that makes replacing the cord in the center of the gasket, but if you cannot get one a flat bladed screw driver and patience will do the trick.

I replaced both of mine myself in 2022. Took less than 1 hour for both.

The last XL windshields I bought cost $130.
That was in 2010.

Is there any good Video’s on replacing XL windshields 7 years ago me and one of my sons put in both windshields with new rubber. Can’t remember every thing, It was not a piece of cake but we got it, That’s why a good Video would help?? I looked on You tube and can’t find a XL Video

If your rubber is good and doesn’t leak or not cracked, leave it alone. your 1-2 hour job will turn into an all day job if not longer.

I replaced the rubber 7 years ago both sides so the rubber has never been stores out side and like new, Found my window tools, Now when I get new windshield I can change it, A video would be nice, I can’t believe there is no Video on you tube?? I could of sworn I saw one 7 years ago??

Hey Jon can you give me some instruction on installing XL windshield, Like I said 7 years ago I installed both windshields and rubber, I can’t remember the sequence, Where to start and finish, I’ve looked every where for a video Thanks’ Found my tools

I had Prevost ship 2 windshields to a Stewart Stevens. First arrived broken (the reason for shipping 2) an the 2nd one arrived broken. I hope you have better luck!
I finally waited until I could get to Prevost and had them do it!

They have windshields in Mira Loma Ca near Riverside, Don’t want to drive bus down there so we will be in SUV down in Huntington Beach 1st part of April so me and my brother will drive from his house 45 miles, I will order and pay before we drive over there just to be sure, If I have a problem installing, We are going to Angles Camp in June so I can swing by Hayward Ca on the way to Angles Camp and let them do It, Me and Brian my youngest son did 2 last time so hopefully we can do another.

Art They make a grease for installing them. You need to pull your rubber and clean the metal and rubber. then grease it and put back onto bus. That will allow the gasket to move a little bit. then set the glass into the bottom corner and then the other bottom corner and take the white neoprene tool and slowly slip up the side and over the top and down the side . Next take the red tool and feed the inner expansion rubber into the windshield gasket and you have installed the windshield. Insure you continually lubricate the slide stick. If you go to a glass shop that does truck and bus glass you can find the lubricant. New technology may be different lubricant. I have installed many a piece of glass in a gasket with an expansion rubber that fits in the channel.
CAUTION CAUTION carefully remove the expansion rubber so as not to tear it. There are various sizes of that rubber. Hope this helps
