Jeff saves my vacation from 2500 miles away
After exhausting every truck repair facility within 50 miles I’m sitting in Herminston OR at the “Prevost Service” dealer. No one can find a part number for my drive axle wheel seal. Prevost parts is a recorded message for greater than 30 minutes. I’m being told it could be weeks before they can get the part. REALLY?
Called Jeff Rowe at ETLC. He calls me back in 5 minutes with the part number and the SAS cross reference number. Turns out its a standard axle seal. They have 30 in stock. Repair is almost done now and we will be on our way within the hour or so. I now have added two seals to my emergency part bin since they are cheap compared to an extended wait far from home.
As usual I cannot say enough about Jeff and his commitment to his customers and the members of PC. It is worth the trip to Knoxville to get work done by Jeff.

Prevost parts is impossible to talk to on the phone, sure would like to know what’s going on, the service is in the toilet lately.

Jeff has done a lot of work for me and I would highly recomend him. This guy knows his stuff and is located in a pretty part of the country.

If anyone has a hub seal leak and you have any issue getting a seal or part number from Prevost do not worry. The existing seal will have the part number of the manufacturer stamped on the rear ring and any shop that stockes and sells seals can cross reference easily. So far I have replaced seals in all positions on all coaches I have owned and every seal was an off the shelf Chicago Rawhide or Scotchseal.
My question is what was the origin of smoke. I have had seal leaks and never saw any indication other than grease on the wheel and tire.
