Bus dash went dead on the road
So after replacing my radiator and CAC. I got the bus out for a test drive. Things went well until I was coming to a stop and the dash went dead no warning lights. Just the dash buzzer. The engine was still running. Stayed dead for about 20 seconds and just came back to life no check engine lights. It ran fine for the 20 miles home. Checked coolant level and all is good
When I got home I checked the codes on the pro driver display. This is what I got.
MID 128 PID 111 FMI 1 Engine coolant level low (no surprise I turned key on with radiator out) (Not active) Pro driver and flash method code 43
MID 128 PID 111 FMI 3 Coolant level sensor input voltage high (not active)pro driver and flash method code 16
Then under the non spec. system option on the Pro Driver I got
Non Spec. Syst. MID 127 not responding (this only showed on pro driver no flash method code)
1 On the pro driver screen what is the non spec system trying to communicate with?
2 I understand the low coolant code I had leveled the coach a couple times while I was getting the radiator rebuilt. But what would cause the voltage to high code? I did have the sensor unplugged for a few days.
3 Could failing chassis batteries cause the dash to go dead? Had them tested today and Napa said two had shorting plates. Still started the engine fine. So I got 4 new ones.
Any thoughts or experiences would be much appreciated. Its a sick feeling when it goes dead on the road.
