Peter.
Any pictures or a drawing to help us pinpoint where to look?

Sorry Jon no pics it was11:30 last night but the clamp and hose are right above where starter bolts on my hose went in behind starter then to spin on fuel filter , the clamp is right above starter on motor it was one of those clamps that go around hose and bolt goes through both holes it was coated in rubber where hose goes through there is two of them one in behind motor and one right above starter the one behind motor was okay it was the one above stater, the only way I would have knowen was to take clamp of and check that’s where it had hole in it inside clamp , hose was in great shape other wise , don’t know if I would have kept going if it could have caused a fire batteries there and starter there good thing I found it I rerouted the new one on outside of starter, hope this helps Jon no pics to late last night and to sleepy after I got done it took longer to take two clamps off than to take hose off and put new one on

talking to detriot today they said there was a recall for that very problem , it could cause fire they rerouted hose like I did , Guys check hose placement to be sure

Just replaced the same hose on mine a few weeks ago, mine was just a drip though and I was home not on the road. Glad it was a wasy fix for you.

There were 2 coaches that were hauling Band Crews in Philly today that went up in smoke. One caught fire and the other parked next to the other was damaged also. Wonder if this was there problem. Glad you caught it Pete.

Peter Is your line a hose or steel, on mine it ir a steel line that runs around block
-
Mine was a braided steel line I tried to take pick of it did not work but the line I am talking about comes from secondary filter by the starter and comes out of there to back of head
-
Mine comes out of where the secondary filter housing is with no filter in it, and from there it is a steel line to the head , I guest they changed it on these stinking egr motors
-
Is there a clamp just above starter on motor block holding hose that’s where mine got hole in it , in clamp
-
I looked at mine, there was an indention where the clamp was, fairly deep. I just removed my clamp to insure no more rubbing, since I was on a trip. The hose did not move with the clamp off of it.
What does this fuel line do? Is it the return line or what?
I’ll be ordering a new line.
