looking online at a 2001 H for sale by Wayne’s, it has 2 slides. In the picture it looks like the floor is level for the front slide. I thought slides had raised floors. What is/are the differences here.

I was under the understanding that Prevost factory slides all had raised floors, after market slides could be flat floor.

Valid slides can be had with flush floors.

You are correct, Prevost slides have raised floors.

A converter can also request that it have the type of slides that level with the floor. I didn’t want that, I wanted PREVOST ONLY SLIDES so that Prevost service center would service them.

The only step we have is at the J-booth and I don’t have a problem with it. We have two sofa’s in the salon so no step is visable there. There is a small step area at the dresser drawers in the bedroom but it looks nice and not out of place.

Buy what YOU like. I did not want pivoting slides…. only IN and OUT.

I WAS under the impression that you could tell the difference between Prevost slides and after market by looking at them from the outside, on this coach at Waynes it looks like Prevost slides from the outside but has flat floor on the inside from what I see in the pictures.

I like your train of thought Mark on Prevost Slides in & out only.

I can tell the diffrence looking from the outside of a slide open or closed whether or not they are Prevost slides, as probably most Prevost owners can.

We have had both….plus plastic coaches with HWH slides.

Our last coach was a 1998 model H3-45 by Vantare and one of the very fiirst Prevosts with 2 slides. Those slides were HWH slides and did not have a level floor and had no air seals. They were great slides and were installed by Vantare at the time of the conversion.

Prevost did not put any slides in an H3-45 Chassis until the mid 2000s… so any H3-45 with slides up to somewhere around 2004 were installed by someone other than Prevost. Most of them were HWH slides and some Valid slides. Vantare only used HWH until Prevost began installing them in the Hs I believe.

We now have Prevost installed factory slides with the air seals and there is a step up at the J Booth which is very well done by Liberty and no problem at all. In our Vantare the step up was covered by the couch and also cabinets and our J Booth was on the passenger side of the coach.

Don’t shy away from the HWH slides as they are good slides and the seals are very easy to replace and the slides themsleves are easy to service and relatively trouble free.

    Cheers, Diane

Ditto what Diane says on the slides.
