  • 1996 XL Window

Posted by Kenneth on December 22, 2018 at 2:20 pm

I have a 1996 Prevost XL Marathon it has the awning windows that the bottom opens, the window has developed a leak between the stationary top curved window and the bottom window frame it’s leaking where the top window goes into what looks like a c channel for the bottom awning window frame. I was wondering can I take them apart. If I pull the lock cord out of the rubber gasket can I remove just the aluminum bottom window frame so I can reseal the c channel between the frame and the top glass. Any help would be appreciated thanks. Murph

Both the upper glass and the lower awning assembly fit into tracks in the rubber extrusion and are held in place with the locking strips. Remove the locking strip and use a window bone to lever the window or the awning assembly out of the extrusion. Same for the installation.

Look in Parts manual section Prev XL 1884-60. There is a good picture of the installation.
