  • 14L DDEC-V Series 60 SENSORS

Posted by Jeff on March 22, 2021 at 9:58 am

Curious to know if anyone either carries spare sensors (and which ones) or has had to replace failed sensors (and which ones)

Wondering if I should carry spares, or replace any.

    THANK YOU

I use to carry boxes and boxes of parts that after 11 years of never using got rid of.

With that said sensors are small and easy to carry and not too costly.

on the road some shops may not have them.

Only thing I recommend is to find the sensors you could actually replace on the road and how to identify the bad one. Some are obvious, eng temp oil pressure coolant tank etc.

I have sensors for oil pressure, oil temp and coolant temp. The only one I do not carry is the coolant level because that can be easily jumpered to eliminate the false message.

The only things that will shut and engine down are oil pressure, coolant level, coolant temp, and on later model coaches oil temp.

I have hauled replacement sensors for oil pressure, coolant etc. for years.

Finally had the oil pressure sensor to fail last year and did NOT have the right sensor socket on board to replace the sensor. Took me 6 hours to go what normally would have taken 3 hours.

Make sure you have a sensor socket to go along with the sensors.
