Skin Delamination
Is there anyone still having skin adhesive problems with the XL2’s? If so, is Prevost still helping Darrell

PREVOST……PLEASE ADDRESS THIS IF I MIS-STATE WHAT BILL JENSEN HAS SAID ON THIS TOPIC.
If an XLII has delamination problems take it to a service center for an inspection and determination of the nature of the problem. The service center will relay the information to Quebec to determine the type of repair effort required and if the cost of the repair will be borne by Prevost or shared with the owner. The issue of who is responsible for the cost is based on a number of factors and will be worked out between Prevost and the owner.
The service center cannot make a unilateral decision, but does have the equipment, techniques, and traiinng to do the repairs.

I had mine done in the summer of 2010. I was at the TN service center for some other work and while I was there, they did a complete inspection of the coach, filled out a map of the problem areas, took some pictures and sent it all off to the factory for approval. After a few days I got a call back to schedule the repairs.
I took the coach back later and they did the repairs which took almost a week. I had LOTS of panel delamination so that is what took so long. The guys at the TN service center did a great job!
My repair was no charge to me, but my coach was still under warranty. I don’t know what they will do for someone out of warranty. My advice would be to contact Prevost and ask.

I had quite a few skin panels on my 2006 Royale XL2 (434) come loose on the vertical edges. I took the coach to the repair facility in Quebec in 2008 and they reglued the panels. Prevost stood behind their product and absorbed the cost of repairs. Again in 2010 I returned the coach to Quebec for the same issue, as well as a problem with water leaking into the front slide and filling up the floor pan. When the slide was in it would leak onto the floor. This time they removed all the side panels and replaced them and had to repaint the coach. Again they stood behind their product and absorbed all the costs. I was quite impressed!
I was the original owner and and can not say that they will do this repair and absorb all the costs forever, for everyone,but that was my experience with Prevost Quebec.

Hi All –
Eventually I will be replacing body panels on my LeMirage. I like the look of the stainless without the rivets and I do not look forward to installing all of those rivets. Is it possible to glue these panels on like Prevost does on the newer coaches? If so, what type of adhesive is used. I have heard the brand name Sikaflex used many times. Is there a particular type of Sikaflex that is best? Is this just a bad idea?

I spoke with David at IBP and I am now convinced the rivets on the older coaches are there for a reason. 🙂 Looks like a lot of riveting in my future.

I was at Prevost Jacksonville recently and I saw a 2006 Liberty that they had repaired using rivets and then stainless strips over the rivets,it looked better than it sounds,Prevost now uses a Locktite glue to secure pannels.
