Prevost service frustrations?
Anyone have to do service work that seemed to take way more effort than it should?
I am seriously considering selling my current coach then buy a Prevost based on below service frustrations.
1) I am facing a radiator repair that is most likely going to require 10+ hours of shop labor to either recore the radiator or replace. That seems ridiculously time consuming considering my stick & and staple Newmar has a side radiator that is supposed to be easier to work on.
2) Had an engine coolant hose that leads to the Oasis water heater split causing all engine coolant to dump inside the basement storage bays. The annoying part – the line runs through the closed frame rails and is zip tied to other hoses and electrical lines so it can’t be replaced. To replace that line either drill through frame rail or run new hose under coach or inside – none sound appealing.
Does Prevost build in crazy similar stuff or is their mantra of getting back on the road ASAP true in these scenarios?

I don’t think 10 hours is out of the question. I replaced mine last year and I had way more than 10 hours in it. Regarding the runs, my bus is like this also. I would just run a new line and leave the old one there. You don’t know what you might disturb pulling and tugging.

We had a Foretravel before the Prevost and a 1980 Liberty before that, The Foretravel is a good coach built well But! A Prevost is built like a Tank. My Mom and Dad always had Prevost Bus’s and dad was a great mechanic and his best friends had other motor homes and one had a Eagle bus. Dad always said nothing is built like a Prevost and Stainless last forever. The foretravel was a great rig and the guy I sold it to still loves it. One of the things I missed most when we had the Foretravel was the compartment doors, when the all stainless steal doors close they thump and solid, Everything about a Prevost is built solid. And a bus is built to be a bus and built to service, You can see the engine If you ever had to remove it,It’s made to come out pretty easy, When I installed my Total Vision Camera 7 years ago I ran cables from front bulkhead to rear bulkhead through a 3 inch conduits that run under bus there is at least 3 of those. As far as motor- leveling- air system- trans is pretty much the same nuts and bolts. First thing my wife said when she first rode in the Prevost was how quiet and smooth it is. Nothing Like A BUS built forever!

The Tiffin I had previously, a 2005 so built in the quality years, had solid doors. Current rig, Newmar is nice but not the level I expect for something in that price range.
