We have owned a coach since 1990. When we bought our first coach it was used, but if my memory is correct it had only been less than 2 years from when the original owner took delivery to when we bought it. To say we had no clue would be an understatement because we had never set foot in an RV. Adding to the learning curve was the fact we had purchased a vehicle that was clearly associated only with entertainers so it drew attention wherever we went. It did not take long for that to become old. We actually began to realize why entertainers prized their privacy.

Obviously that has changed. There are now hundreds, if not thousands of motorhome conversions on the road so we no longer get the attention we used to. The fact our current coach is in its 16th year from when Prevost built it helps minimize the attention from others. What has not changed however are the opportunities we have had a as a direct result of owning our coach. We have gotten preferential treatment (undeserved) in Las Vegas. We were provided with special parking privleges at VF outlets because we were viewed as big spenders and the maagement wanted it convenient for us to carry our bags of purchases to the coach. As Prevost owners we had an opportunity to watch an Indianapolis 500 race from a suite on the second turn next to the Andretti’s suite and beneath AJ Foyt’s suite. We presume only Prevost owners were offered that opportunity.

We went to a Wayne Newton concert at Melody Fair in Tonawanda, NY and the band members and techs asked us to park with their coaches. We only had to walk a few feet to see the show, and we never had to leave the coach until the crew told us it was time to go sit down.

Recently a PC member made tickets to the Dayton 500 with prime parking in the infield and excellent Petty Tower seating available through the PC flea market. We took advantage of that opportunity which we would have never seen if we were not participating on a Prevost site. There have been other examples of the oportunities we have had just because we own a Prevost coach.

But the absolute best part of the ownership of our coach has been our ability to make good friends from all over the country that we can visit or host and see at rallies. We literally have friends from coast to coast that we would never have had the opportunity to meet without our coach.

    How about your experiences?

We bought our first motorhome back in 1972. I have owned most every make out there since. Back in 2001 when we bought our first Liberty and went to our first Liberty rally, Donna asked “what if these people who own busses are snooty?” I told her that if they were that way, we would not fit in with them. We were pleasantly pleased to find everyone we met with a Prevost conversion to be down to earth, really good people who had worked very hard to achieve success so they could enjoy the best coaches. We have far more friends from all over the country (and even Canada) from the motorhome lifestyle than we do on the Mississippi coast after living there for over 30 years. This is a great lifestyle!

Very nice John. Now if you can just get Jon hooked up somewhere other than beside the travel trailer, infield, filled with drunk “good ole boys” life would be good. You know, the one’s that help you understand why some animals eat their young!

    John,

We had a wonderful time and still remember how great it was to get up close and personal with all that was going on at the Indy 500. Our experience at the Daytona 500 this year was the opposite because we ended up parked next to a plastic sitcks and staples that had about 7 guys whose sole purpose for being there was to drink beer and make everyone’s life miserable. The opportunity you presented to us was the benchmark we have used and nothing yet has come close to how enjoyable that was.

Welcome to Prevost Community. We look forward to having you post on our forum and hope you can join us at our rallies.

John Very nice thanks for sharing. Murf Unless you go in a group and reserve the same spot you never know

whom you will be parked next to. We have camped at the 500 for the past 7 years and were very lucky

to have good neiabors. We won’t be going back this year only because we are tired of the Daytona area.

I’m sure I’ll miss the race though! The indy 500 is definetly on my bucket list!!! Rick
