US Highway 191 through Utah?
We’ll be driving from LA to northern Wisconsin with a stop near Kansas City later this month. The typical route is I-15 North into Utah and then I-70 east to Kansas City. An alternate would be to take I-40 East from LA and then head straight north on US 191 through eastern Utah. Anybody have recent experience with that highway. It appears to be 2 lane all the way from I-40 to I-70. Is it worth the detour and long 2 lane for the scenery? There is at least one 10,000 foot pass in there too. Any issues with that? We will be towing our Jeep GC. Also, any suggestions for a stopover spot near Arches or Cayonlands national parks? Any advice is welcome as we have never been in that area.

Can’t edit my prior post, so will do it here. The route I’m considering would be US 89/163 from Flagstaff north through Monument Valley and then US 191 north to I-70. Thanks.

We use 191 every winter to get to AZ for warmer weather. Our route going south is I70 west to US191 to US160 to US 89 to Flagstaff AZ. There are no hard uphill pulls or really steep downhills on this route. Speed limit is 65 most all the way. We do not use US 163 north of Kayenta because of the slow up and down at Mexican Hat to cross the bridge over the San Juan river. We reverse the same route going north. Fuel at Pilot east of Kingmon AZ. Not much place to fuel a bus on US 191. Only rest area is 10 miles south of Moab. The views are great.

Tom, when I click “edit” on one of my posts I go to a window that says “You are trying to access an area that is not yours” Am I doing something wrong?

I also screwed you up by logging in again this morning as you, you’re flags will not show some of the new posts since your last one, so you’ll have to look for the dates to see new posts since last night. I just can’t get it to fail using your login.

When I sign in using your name I can edit. What device are you using? We might be starting to see those issues appear again as browsers and devices get upgraded and the forum software cannot keep up with the changes.

Tom, Jon, I use two pcs and get the error on both. Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8. Here’s the screenshot of what I get when I click “Edit”:
When I get time tonight I’ll try logging on through Google Chrome and see if I can edit that way. Thanks.

Bryan…..as you can see from the above I logged in as you, Windows 7, Chrome. We haven’t had any complaints about IE. I have no clue about what is happening unless it is the device you are using.

Just tried it again through Chrome. Same result.
I can’t see how it is device related since it happens on both my computers, but it’s not worth worrying about. Thanks for checking.

It is something we need to fix. We just need to know what’s broke. The proliferation of devices, browsers, versions of software, etc. are the things likely creating the issue, and if nothing else we just need to zero in on what is not working and then our web guy and figure out what we need to do.

OK Bryan, here’s a possible problem that has happened before. The username and password are case sensitive. The system will allow you to login with your username even if you don’t follow the case sensitive requirement. However, it won’t let you edit. Try again using the original username, I just sent it to you by e-mail and be sure to use capitol letters as you set in the beginning.
