Finish –glitz–apearance
I’m pretty good at getting the mechanical where it needs to be and the rough in but the final wow! eludes my talent! We build our own furniture–do the uphlostery-build slides–drive train work –body work,but Final WOW has always been lacking. Mike T made a good point. I’m sure he could trim my ceiling to wall joint and make it WoW. for example. Good place to trade ideas… Ive been using Lowes pre made trim.

Throw rugs are just on floor for protection.. need that finishing touch that I lack.. We have allot of storage under couch and every space is used. Life is a adventure! Bob

Looking very nice Bob. Hope you can bring the coach to Ocala in March. I would like to bum a tour! There is a 1945 Flixible near by for sale. If I had your time and talent I would buy it and have a lot of fun putting it together. Rick

Looks great Rob! I would be honored to help with a few ideas on the interior. I once had a client in Atlanta who had his basement built out by another contractor. He’s complaint was the ceiling tiles in the drop ceiling made it look like his office. I explained to him that’s what we call contractor grade, LOL! Took me and my crew a week, but we changed the tiles with a deco tile pattern and basket weaved stained mullin over the grid with 2 way tape to match his woodwork. It really made the basement have that residentail feel. Hey, using pre-fab trim is ok in my book! I will try and dig thru my pics and post. Would love to meet you and tour your coach also if you can make it to Sefner, Fl.

Bob, for the detail ideas there is no place better than to steal ideas than someplace to look at coaches. I am not about to reinvent the wheel. I don’t mind trying to perfect it, but if someone else has solved a problem that is the best starting point.

Don’t ya know that’s what I steal when I take tours—-and read forums—-and listen to problems—– maybe borrow is a better word.. Definitely will share the O-Sh^^t that did not work out and cost me big bucks on my end… And will try to explain why and if someone else can make it work—-go for it! Bob

60 series detroit 2000 pre egr /10spd autoshift -two overdrives /307 rear end… We have had equipment down —-Got the Allison TT-2201 twin disc back together yesterday…….and ill grandkids(sniffles) we take care of so parents can work—so bus build has been on back burner for about a month…Next week looks good to get back on it to get some bus R&R….much needed….Sort of like a X-Mas present to me.. It’s great to see your progress. Take you time finding just the right decorative pieces in that the detail work is what gives the coach the WOW factor. Here is a link to a company that I used several trim pieces from for my coach. You have two different looks in wood finish in your coach, it appears, a mid tone lacquered (cabinets) and a pale tone flat finish (slide out), in the pics, so I would use trim that blends those two finishes together. For example, above the kitchen cabinets, I would use a small fluted trim, perhaps a twisted rope trim or something that might be decorative and stain it somehow in a combination of the lacquered and flat tones. For example, take a piece of 3/4″ cherry stock that is 1″ wide by the length of your cabinet area that needs covering. Stain and finish it with lacquer then nail to it a small piece of bell shaped chair rail or rope trim that is 3/8″ wide by 3/8″ thick that is stained with the pale tone flat finish. That makes it decorative and blends the two finishes together at the same time.
