Duluth
We are traveling in the northern Minn. area. In Bemidji for a few day an on the the Duluth area. Is there any info on what to see and a RV park to stay for a few days.

Lakehead Boat Basin in Duluth is good if you want to do the tourist stuff in town. It is located down by the water and close to many of the things do see and do in Duluth. It is also an easy drive up Hwy. 61 to Split Rock lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls State Park if you want to look outside of town for awhile.

The place we stay often is Knife River RV park.
Randy (owner) has 4-50 amp pull throughs. In Knife River you have all these within walking distance of your bus, Emily’s Cafe, Knife River candy company (homemade) Russ Kendals Smoke Fish Shop, Knife River Marina, good boat watching and easy access to beach. We build a fire from wood washed a shore and there is a lot of it.
Mark’s suggestion ….would be my first choice.
It’s a pretty awesome marina/RV park. If you’re their at the right time you could see some hugh ships enter the harbor going under the world famous lift bridge to Duluth Harbor, plus walking distance to about 10 restaurants. You need reservations at this RV park.

Im sure almost everyone in PC has a GPS of some sort, Good Sam directory or other form of RV park directory. But as we have all at one time or another found the information to be a bit misleading sometimes. However, its so nice to almost instant first hand information about where to stay and what to look out for. PC is the best!

One thing to do that most of is who live here don’t think of much is the William A. Irvin boat tour in Canal Park. This is an old USS boat that has been turned into a museum of sorts right nex the the convention center. It used to be the flagship of United States Steel and carried visitors around for the company.
The convention center runs the tours and this time of year it is a good place to visit. It actually isn’t too cold…

If you’re interested in something really unique, drive up to Grand Portage, MN and take one of the boats out to Isle Royale National Park. Sits closer to Canada than the US, but still in the US. The most remote National Park in the system. 65 miles long, 12 miles wide. Very interesting history. Very interesting eco system as well. One of the least known National Parks in the system.

The EAA AirVenture airshow is this week at the Oshkosh (WI) airport. The event started today (Saturday) and runs through next Sunday (August 3rd). The Air Force Thunderbirds are flying during the daily airshows on Aug 1 – 3. If you’ve never been there, be prepared to be overwhelmed.
We drove by there today and stopped at the EAA Seaplane Base on the western shore of Lake Winnebago. Nicest seaplane base I’ve ever been to.

Minnesota is a wonderful state. But Wisconsin has four things that Minnesota does not have and probably will never have: Four Super Bowl Trophies (and more on the way!).
You can see all four of them at the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

We would like thank all that responded to our request for info on parking in the Duluth area. We stayed at Ogston RV Park in Saginaw. Nice park with large sites, level and grass.
