Whittington Woods Campground – IL
Sometimes
you just run across a campground that has been so well done, you just
have to brag about it. We visited this campground in 2008 and the new
owners were just taking over. 6 years later, this place is unmatched
for big rigs. Big gravel driveways and sites (no dust), tree’s
trimmed to a minimum of 20′, sewer hookups flush with the ground,
excellent 50 amp and tons of room to maneuver. All in a tree covered
area with summer shade without the worries of dragging branches
across your bus. It’s on I-57 south of I-64 and worth the extra miles
if your running east to west.Plan
on staying here (PC Discount) the owners are great and family members are Prevost
owners.

Great place to stay if you’re going to attend the ARCA stock car race at the Du Quoin State Fair on Monday, Sept 1st. The USAC Silver Crown cars run on Sunday, August 31st.
