Myakka River Resort – BEWARE!!!
On our way north from the Keys, we decided to stop at some places that I see mentioned on the forum. I believe it’s Tom that stays at Myakka River so it was a good stop between the Keys and St Pete our next stop. I remember looking at their website previously and thought yes, we should check out Myakka River sometime. So in the morning, I look up Myakka River RV Resort, make my reservation at only $30 a night, plug it into the GPS and off we go.
Imagine our surprise when the welcoming committee of a half dozen bloated young gents with T-Shirts off — well, I won’t go into all the details. Anyway, I was led to our spot down the gravel road across from a slew of permanent 30’ trailers with strings of colored lights and lawn ornaments galore, cars jacked up on blocks. Mmmm???? This doesn’t look like the right place. But yes, it’s the Myakka River RV Resort. Far be it from a resort.
Back to the internet and Ooops. I should have searched for Myakka River Motorcoach Resort — not the Myakka River RV Resort. Quite a difference — yet so similar. Lesson learned.
That said, they did have Jamestown Products power outlets.

We visited Tom and Nance once upon a time while at that resort and there was Alligator swimming in the pond. It wasn’t big enough to eat you then – but that was few years back. How fast do they grow?

LMAO because I have been to the OTHER Myakka, but I was in our Jeep. I can just imagine the good ole boys and your welcome committee and the comments, “that there is one big RV boys, got to get me one of those”.
Now if you would have gone to your PC Map, you wouldn’t have had that problem.:)
