OCEANFRONT IN SE USA
I see Hilton Head Harbor Resort & Marina with marina front parking. Anything else in SE USA on the water?

This is not an upscale resort, but it is easy to get to and it is right on the beach. We were there for a couple of nights last winter and enjoyed it.

I second what John B said. We’ve stayed at Beverly Beach several times.

Beverly Beach is also one of our regular stops twice a year. If you want to really be ON the beach, Camp Gulf in Destin, FL. Pricey but well worth being ON the beach. Call ahead to make sure you’re in the 800 row ON the beach. I booked a year in advance to be ON the beach for a week next year.

we are presently at Hilton Head Harbor RV resort. We are what is called waterfront. You would be very disappointed if you are expecting beach front here. Park is clean and neat very tight spaces. Just barely enough room to park the toad with the slides extended Waterfront is looking at the marina on the inter coastal waterway.
Never stayed at the Motorcoach resort in Hilton head as fifth wheels are not allowed and our kids joined us this trip for the annual “Griswald” vacation.
only “beachfront” locations I know of are the 2 already mentioned (Beverly Beach & Camping on the Gulf) plus Oceanlakes, Pirateland, And Lakewood all in Myrtle Beach, SC. We stayed at all of them one time or another. Nothing like camping on the beach with 4 or 500 of your best friends.
if you find another beach front Rv resort I would like to know more.

Myrtle Beach Travel Park between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach S.C. is another and is a beautiful park. It is only two miles from my home.

In April we stayed at the Hilton Head Harbor. “Waterfront” are on a canal. We stayed for years at HH Motrocoach Resort near Sea Pines but will never go back. This year, after making a reservation as always, we had to change our arrival date by one day. The only way they said they could make the change was by keeping our deposit, making a new reservation and charging a second deposit. We protested but no luck. After several years as regular customers we’ll never go back. They didn’t care but I’ll bet lot owners would care… lost income. Explains why the park is not full like it used to be?
Now I feel better.

I called HH Harbor and they told me they could not reserve a canal front (marina front) lot for me. She said all lots are “first come, first served” Hard to believe.

I tend to get a little cranky with people who suffer from stupid.
If some telephone answerer told me I could not make a reservation my probable response would be to hang up. But if I really wanted to stay there my next response would be consider me as checking in, here is my credit card information and I will allow you to bill my card whether my bus sits on the site or not.
But I admit I would have to absolutely, positively need to be at that resort on the water real bad because not taking a reservation secured by a credit card seems off the charts.

I had a job assignment in 2005 to time a new signal system on Emerald Isle, NC. If I recall it is NC 58 just northeast of Swansboro, NC. It was to be complete for Memorial Day that year and we arrived on the Friday before Memorial Day Monday.
Prior arrangements had been made to drive the “Classic” coach and stay at the Holiday RV Park. It just so happened the location is off Coast Guard Road, the first traffic signal in the new system as well as the first traffic signal after crossing the Intracoastal waterway. The park has waterfront as part of their property, you just have to walk over the dunes from your coach and there it is, the Atlantic Ocean. We have stayed there several times since. Holiday weekends can be somewhat noisy with families and their kids.
Look the site up on Google Earth Pro and you will be shown the layout and proximity to the ocean. When we went there in 2011, Hurricane Irene was aiming at the NC coast. We got to the park, checked in, hooked up, and then went looking for a restaurant for lunch. The Swansboro Municipal building was surrounded by EMS and police vehicles. I thought, since it was almost noon, the meeting would be breaking up soon and we could inquire of a local the location of a good to great seafood restaurant. As it turned out, the meeting was an emergency preparedness meeting. We got the answer and some sage advice. The LEO told us that Governor Bev was calling for a guest abd tourist mandatory evacuation at 1:00 PM. So we just wnet back and unplugged, advised the office what was about to happen and received a full refund.
Hurricane Irene made landfall right at Morehead City, where in 2006 I had timed four clsoed loop signal systems as if they were all in one and more importantly left a Jumbo, preferred one way west timing plan for use in the event of an evacuation. The plan was used and it worked magnificently according to the Division 2 Operations Engineer for NCDOT. One problem, Division 4 did not have the insight to implement the same one way west preferential timing plan on 5-6 traffic signals off the end of the controlled access portion of US 70 in Goldsboro. Bug traffic jam but at least the jam was 100 miles west of the hurricane.
I had lots of fun doing those signal system timings for the final six years of working for NCDOT. It was a job where no supervisor had to sya how good or bad the work was since you could tell once installed if it was good or not. If not, fix it.
