  • Capital Reef NP to Bryce via 12

Posted by Bill on April 27, 2014 at 9:43 pm

Anyone driven their bus from Captiol Reef NP in Torrey Ut to Bryce Canyon on 12?

We are getting mixed reports if its a good idea with a 45′ and towd… Any input would be appreciated.

Your probably already gone but this months FMCA magazine had an articale where a guy ran 12 with a toad and no problems. He didn’t say what his coach was.

Ha, 10-4 on that. Sid called today to check in from NM. Everytime I go to the barn the bus looks at me like a horse trying to get out of the corral, when we going, when we going.

As soon as there’s a hint of good weather were off to MT, heck the weather is near perfect here. Next year you know now you have to stay another month.

    Bernie,

Yeah we already made the call and based on what I read on other non-prevost forums we decided to be safe and not take 12. We back tracked today in the towd and it would have been no big deal with the Bus at all…. couple of big grades but nothing worse then we have been on… the way the locals were talking on the Torrey side… it would be white knuckling the whole way… Oh well… better safe than sorry.

We saw lots of 40, 45’s, tour buses and the like and no real problems… 12 was sold to us as the most scenic drive in the US and the second in the world… which we aren’t so sure we agree with….

Loving our time in Bryce and in our opinon it’s right up there on the top of our National Park list…

And the adventure continues…. 341 days on the road and still loving every minute and mile of it….
