Another Sun Resorts! They are going to take over the RV Park World if things continue at this pace.

Good luck making a reservation with those morons, be sure to have plenty of time to listen to the music on hold.

I got to deal with one person direct in the call center while trying to get the ball rolling for Petoskey and at one point she told me she had 27 calls to return and just laughed. They work from home…

Mr. Brewer, what is the delivery date for your new coach?

In 1990 we often found RV sites for around $10. In the ensuing 29 years prices have risen, but sites have improved so some of the price increases were understandable.

But more recently we have been finding prices are getting way beyond reasonable, and in addition to pricing we are finding that we are being confronted with RV park rules that are getting ridiculous. Age of coaches is one obvious rule, but one that has prompted us to do more and more dry camping on private property is an imposition of fees for guests. We no longer use a certain RV park because if friends want to visit for a while at the coach before we go somewhere for dinner they have to pay $5 each just to sit around outside the coach chatting.

Add to that issue relating to the economics of using an RV park problems in communicating with an RV park. When we are on the road and have decided where we would like to stop for the night, more and more frequently we are getting voice mail and a promise of a call back, something that either does not happen, or happens after we have made alternate plans.

Out of curiosity I looked to see what an internal back in site cost for the above listed RV park. At $91 a night the price is sufficient for me to say no way.

We have avoided resorts ever since our first trip in the coach to Las Vegas Motor Coach Resort in 2012 was a disaster. My wife was ambivalent about “camping” so I treated her to a week-long stay at the resort. Not a good experience. All week long, we had to listen to a jack hammer demolishing the concrete pad of the site across from us. The resort was not helpful.

We spend our winter in state and regional parks. Better value, more space. Only problem is demand has sky rocketed and one must book a year in advance.
