  • Mini PC No Rally Rally Hearthside

Posted by Corey on March 19, 2015 at 2:52 pm

This was alluded to under another heading, but if anyone is interested in Hearthside the 2nd or 3rd week of June, now is the time to get it together. That place fills up fast. I am sure that Dean and Heidi Miller will help us put it together. What say some of you ? It really is a beautiful place and area.

We will certainly be glad to help. We need to get some feedback as soon as possible so that we can get an idea of how many sites we need to hold. We are taking a lot of reservations right now for this season. I promise you will love it.

We would be in but you are about 13 to 14 months ahead of us. Our next trip up that way will be in summer of ’16. Have a great time and we lookforward to being there next July.

We will be in the area around that time, so count us in if you can put it together.

    Hearthside Grove Motorcoach Resort

    2400 US 31 North Petoskey, MI 49770

That’s in the northern part of the state.

See their ad under Advertisers / Resorts this web site.

    Petosky Michigan.

An absolutely beautiful area in upper Michigan.

Been there a few times and loved it.

On the banks of Lake Michigan.

    You need to go there.

Mike & Carolyn, Come on up. You’ll have a great time. Charles, dig up one of those coffee cans from the backyard…fuel is still cheap and join us. Geo.

Petosky is in the northwest corner of the lower peninsula of Michigan, just east of Beaver Island. While we haven’t yet stayed at Hearthside, I have sailed from Chicago to every port on the Michigan side, and can say the further north you go to the Michigan ports the nicer they are. Water temp will be about 55 degrees though, and since the wind is usually from west to east, we want a sunny day to offset the lake effect on air temp.

My wife and I stayed at Hearthside a couple of years ago. We found the management and residents very friendly.

Lots to do in that area with many choices for day trips. The park is spectacular .

Harthside Grove is on the Prevost Communities MAP.

Upper bar, click on Forums. Top Left hand side, bunch of Blue Boxes. Click on right most blue box. PC Users MAP

Top left, you can Select a Catagory. Select “RVParks and Overnight stops” which reduces the clutter of other subjects on the map.

    Click on “Submit

Look at upper MI and scroll in. Keep scrolling and you will see the actual roads leading to Harthside Grove.

I will keep adding things to the MAP. If you have trouble adding, just send me the information, my email is open, and I will post it for you.

The Map is a nice addition to the PC site but little used at this point. Hopefully we can change that.

    Safe travels

Just read Hearthside’s info here in “advertisements”. Says they have a “restriction” of ten years on the age of our buses. Heck, it was 13 when we got it, and now it’s 21. It’s probably been used 21 months in its whole life. Original frig, carpet, microwave, etc. Interesting how the passage of time has such an affect on our lives – rubber, depreciation, skin, stamina, IRA, and rv parks.

My apologies, sitting here in Ft. Pierce with philosophy out of control.

Hmm, let’s do the math Prevost style.

    This is 2015.

You say the coach has been used 21 months total, so let’s stretch it and say 24 months for ease of calculations

    2015 minus 2 years (24 months) equals you having a 2013 Prevost.

See how simple it is! When you make reservations just say it is a 2013. Unless they are really up on Prevosts, they will not be able to tell the difference.

I knew that summer school I had to take in high school, in order to gradchiate, would pay off.

Is the RV park within their self imposed 10 year limit? If so is it possible they will cancel themselves when they get ten years old?

Why don’t they just say they have the right to refuse access to anyone. Then when someone pulls up in a 30 year skoolie painted like the Partridge family is inside they can just tell them they are refusing access? I guess prejudice is still acceptable in some places.

I think we can probably put this 10 yr crap to bed. It just doen’t apply to Prevosts. Instead of trying to educate anybody….just tell them it’s a 2006 or up….no one other than us know and it beats trying to explain anything to high school kid on the phone. Geo. PS the only crappy looking Precosts I’ve seen lately were at Lon’s after the fire.
